Art in Denim Exhibit at AQS Paducah

In his studio, amid mounds of blue, the uncountable shades and features of this common fabric are a palette in the hands of artist Ian Berry. He applies no bleach and no paint to create contrast and shadows; every inch of his layered fabric artwork is chosen from recycled denim clothing to create unique portraits and city scenes that almost defy description —except to say that they are primarily denim collages formed by the hand of a master. His brushes are scissors and glue.
